At Little Rascals, we use ‘learning through play’ as a non-negotiable principle of how we work with children.
A high-quality nursery education is about much more than colours and shapes, numbers, and letters. It’s about learning to be independent, confident, strong, and curious.
It’s about developing children’s natural joy and wonder at the world they live in.
This is our second which became part of the Little Rascals family in August 2015. The nursery now boasts beautiful spacious rooms, thoughtfully decorated with calm homely colours and a selection of natural and wooden resources for the children to explore. The nursery is purpose-built and each room has access to an area of the garden dedicated to meeting the needs of the children in that room. The beautiful gardens include mud kitchens, sand areas, children’s allotments, sun shades, water walls, and sensory areas.
The learning opportunities provided for the children are further embellished with regular activities such as music lessons, baby sign classes, cookery, forest school, trips out and animal petting sessions.
Staff skillfully document each child’s journey of learning and the development that takes place whilst at nursery. This is recorded using some software called Tapestry, which allows families to log in and receive regular observations about what their child has been learning whilst at nursery. We firmly believe that parents are children’s first educators. Therefore we actively encourage parents to share information about what their child likes to learn about whilst at home.
We have a graduate-led team of practitioners who have been carefully selected for their passion, enthusiasm and experience. Staff are dedicated to providing the best for your child and work closely with families to provide excellent care and communication.
The quality and experience of our staff is what makes us special and we understand that they are undoubtedly our most valuable resource. Our robust recruitment procedures ensure that we employ only the most dedicated practitioners. We have a broad range of ages and experience within our team and many of our practitioners are long standing members of the Little Rascals team.
Our graduate led team of staff, including two Early Years Teachers, provide inspiring opportunities, which encourage the enquiring, expanding thoughts and imaginations of the children, in our homely nurturing environments. In addition we ensure that all of our staff hold a full Paediatric First Aid qualification, which is regularly updated.
